CIS has an arrangement with 
NII(National Institute of Informatics) for issuing digital certificates, which are used to confirm that a website is legitimate and that its online transactions are secured.
SSL certificates can only be issued to
- Faculty/staff members
- Domain name that is administered by KIT(including “kit.ac.jp”)
by applying via the online application.
