To all Faculty, Staff, and Students,
Thank you for your continued cooperation in maintaining the university’s information security.
We are writing to inform you that since the early hours of May 12, 2026, an issue has been occurring with ESET,
our campus-wide antivirus software, where license activation is failing to complete successfully.
[Details of the Incident]
ESET license activation is currently failing, and errors are being displayed during attempts to update the engine and virus definition files.
As a result, there is a possibility that the latest threat detection capabilities may not be applied to your system.
[Request to Users]
Until this issue is resolved, we recommend using alternative security measures,
such as Windows Defender or other antivirus tools, to ensure your device remains protected against potential threats.
Please be extra careful of suspicious emails, files, and websites.
[Current Status and Future Actions]
We are currently conducting a thorough investigation in coordination with our software vendor.
At this time, the cause has not yet been determined, and we do not have an estimated time for recovery.
We will provide further updates on the CIS website as soon as new information becomes available.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and concern this may cause.
